The project, Local-level land degradation assessment towards sustainable land management for improved livelihoods in the Ethiopian Rift Valley (SMILE) funded by Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia (REDAA) program, focuses on co-developing community-based action plans and sustainable land management interventions to combat land degradation and enhance livelihoods in the Ethiopian Rift Valley. Through participatory and locally-led approaches, we conduct land degradation assessments, integrate gender-sensitive and low-cost business models tailored to specific sites, and strengthen local capacity to ensure long-term impact and sustainability.
