On behalf of the University, I extend our congratulations to Christopher Morgan and thank June Boyle for standing for election and their interest in this important role. I would also like to thank all students and staff who took the time to vote.
Christopher will take up the role on 2 December 2026 subject to Court, in accordance with the requirement in the Higher Education Governance (Scotland) Act 2016, formally approving the appointment at its meeting of that same date.
Speaking about his election, Christopher said: "I am honoured, and particularly proud as a graduate of the University to have been elected as Senior Governor of the University's Court. I look forward to being a strong ambassador for staff, students and alumni, as well as an advocate for the University and higher education in Scotland."
