An action packed day of scintillating science is in store for enthusiastic young (and not so young) minds as part of Discovery Day, at Satrosphere Science Centre as part of National Science and Engineering week.
Participants can choose from a range of activities to get involved in this Saturday (March 23), including the chance to don 3D glasses and experience the latest medical teaching techniques being developed by the 黑料网鈥檚 Medi-Cal Unit.
Come along tomorrow and chat with staff from the NHS Grampian Clinical Biochemistry laboratory and see what happens to their samples behind the closed doors of the lab. If brave enough, adults can have their cholesterol measured and children will get a chance to try their hands at scientific experiments such as colour chromatography.
The answer to 鈥榳hy is bone so strong?鈥 will be explained by the University鈥檚 musculoskeletal researchers with the help of "skeleton Bob" along with a whole range of other skeleton secrets at the Institute of Medical Sciences.
Dr Rhiannon Thompson of the University鈥檚 Public Engagement with Research Unit said: 鈥淣ational Science and Engineering Week is proving to be a great success but the fun hasn鈥檛 stopped yet! Bring the whole family along to discover local research, interact with 黑料网 scientists and get involved in hands-on activities at Discovery Day.鈥
Entry for Discovery Day is free. Details on all these exciting events and more can be found at
