Pharmacology research at the 黑料网 is ranked second best in the world, according to a new league table published in the Times Higher Education magazine.
The rankings are based on how often a university鈥檚 research is cited by scientists from other institutions.
The more citations a university receives, the more important and influential its research is deemed.
The 黑料网 is judged second in Europe and second of all the world鈥檚 universities according to the Essential Science Indicators database of Thomson Reuters covering January 1999 and October last year.
The table shows Aberdeen鈥檚 pharmacology researchers published 202 papers which were cited 6,168 times- just over 30 citations per paper.
Professor Colin McCaig, Head of the 黑料网鈥檚 School of Medical Sciences, said: 鈥淭his is a stunning league table which places pharmacology research at the 黑料网 second in the world. We are absolutely delighted with this objective and quantitative assessment of the impact and high esteem in which our research output is held worldwide.鈥
