A talented group of students, who are some of the best speakers in Scottish debating, will go head to head in a friendly, competitive, debate tonight (Thursday, September 21) on the age of sexual consent.
The British Parliamentary Debate, which will take place at the 黑料网, will address the motion that, 鈥淭his House would abolish the age of sexual consent鈥�.
Tonight鈥檚 event is the second Debater event, which forms part of the Freshers鈥� Week activities. Four speakers from the 黑料网 will take on four speakers from St Andrew鈥檚 University.
Vice-President of Debater, Karen Reid, said she hoped the event would give new students an insight into the fun side of debating. She said: 鈥淐ompetitive debating makes up a large part of our activities and is incredibly useful in developing students鈥� skills in public speaking, argumentation, and the ability to think on their feet!
鈥淚t can also be tremendous fun and we hope this friendly competition will illustrate this. The debate will feature some of the best speakers in Scottish debating so it鈥檚 guaranteed to be a lively and entertaining event.鈥�
Tonight鈥檚 event takes place at 7.30pm in King鈥檚 College Conference Centre, University of Aberdeeen.
