No
Yes I participated in oncall weekend shifts in obstetrics
I did two nightshifts on labour ward which were rather busy, so at times I would hold one of the junior phones and take calls whilst they were with a patient etc.

The highlight of this block has the been the staff. Everyone has been so welcoming and happy to get me involved in things around the ward. I also felt supported to independently seek out opportunities to fit my learning needs.
I have really enjoyed the amount of ward time I was able to have along with being able to choose my timetable for surgery and clinics I am really interested in obs and gynae so found this block to be very interesting
I loved feeling involved with the clinical team and allowing to be more independent (to a certain degree!). I am really interested in womens health so being able to spend two months in obs and gynae has been really enjoyable. I've loved being involved with all aspects: ward, theatres, clinics etc. It's been nice getting to know the staff and feeling apart of the team.
What has been the main challenge during this block?

The main challenge of the block has been student volume. In obs and gynae there has been relatively lower numbers of students compared to other specialties. However, it has been challenging competing for opportunities at times.
Only challenge would be finding jobs in ward as sometimes a lot of medical students
There were 5 of us timetabled, which meant there were two other students on the wards with me in obs and gynae. Obstretrics wise, we can manage with 3 people but on gynaecology 3 people is not manageable. There are too many students and i seriously think my learning suffered because of this. I understand there are more and more med students, but 3 5th years in gynaecology at one period is not appropriate.
Would you like to tell us more about the concern related to discrimination, bullying and harassment?

I would like to particularly give a shoutout to Caroline Adeyusi, Emma Sullivan and Rachel Radley for being so supportive during the block - I really feel like it made a difference to my time in Obs and Gynae.
Dr Abigail Wright - ST2 Lovely, got me involved. Dr Elizabeth Goodison ST2 - Very sweet, helped me learn and was very supportive during my theatre days. Dr Neil Cowan - my supervisor for obs, very supportive and encouraged me to get involved and attend meetings, clinics, labour ward etc. Dr Lucky Saraswat - my supervisor for gynae. Very sweet and gave me really good feedback for things like history taking - encouraged me to attend her clinics etc which allowed me to see specialised services like endo services Dr Aadhya Regmi - FY1 i met in gynaecology who was really kind and let me do certain procedures and go with her for things i was less confident in Dr Mahenoor Ilyas LAT1 - Very lovely as well, spend a lot of days with her and helped me feel really comfortable and confident improved Dr Jyoti Utkar ST5/CF - Super bubbly and warm. Taught me a lot and I spent my night shifts with her, allowed me to see a lot and she is genuinely so lovely. Ciara Murphy - midwife. So kind and helped me understand a different side of maternity care Honestly all of the junior staff and registrars and consultants were so lovely. The nurses and midwives were super lovely and happy for me to ask questions and get involved - i never felt like a burden or unwanted whilst on the wards.
