The time with the practice nurses and ANP allowed me to get a lot of my sign offs and be more hands on as well as everyone being very welcoming and kind through the whole practice. Opportunity to complete an audit was also very valuable

Having more time one on one with GP’s, having 2 fourth years and a fifth year made learning opportunities quite sparse, especially when paired up with GP’s. The learning opportunities with the GP’s even when one on one were also limited as it seemed to have been communicated that fourth years aren’t as encouraged to take histories or do examinations independently. Giving more opportunities for taking history’s on our own and leading consultations would have been very valuable as often time was spent observing GP’s. Often clinics were not full which also limited learning opportunities especially with the increased number of students there this year.

Dr Emma Windle GP at Kingswells Practice Dr Windle went out of her way to try and create learning opportunities for us (eg organising the audit) as well pushing for us to see patients and lead consultations.
