I received excellent one to one teaching from my supervising GPs with constructive feedback.

This placement was a wonderful experience to practice focused history taking in a practical clinical environment. However, I would have liked more practice in solo supervised consulting. And I feel that a 6 week placement could have been more beneficial accommodate. Also I believe there should be an element of written feedback incorporated in the eportfolio, just like the mini CEX so that I can gather clear feedback on my consultation skills from not only my educational supervisor but other GPs too who supervised my consultations.

I would like to wholeheartedly nominate Dr Paul Davies, GP at Insch Medical Practice, for his brilliant teaching and unwavering support throughout my placement. He delivered masterclass level teaching on different body systems in a very systematic manner, based on very vague clinical presentations (from cases/consultations ranging from very simple to extremely complex). His manner was professional and his teaching was remarkably insightful and engaging. He challenged me to critically re analyse my approach to clinical reasoning, encouraged innovative thinking and taught me how to structure and construct robust differential diagnoses. I would also like to mention here that Dr Paul Davies and the entire team at Insch Medical Practice completely reshaped my perception about GPs and I gained an appreciation into how rewarding and impactful General Practice can be. Therefore, I would like to nominate him for formal recognition. I would also like to nominate my educational supervisor Dr Kate Irvine, GP at Insch Medical Practice, for her outstanding guidance and supervision. She reshaped my focused history taking technique into clear and structured framework and helped me navigate through complex cases and difficult consultation ensuring that no critical information is missed. Her support and teaching boosted my confidence and strengthened my clinical thoroughness.
