PhD Project - Vitri Darlene
Vitri Darlene鈥檚 PhD explores the experiences and the acceptability of Minimal Important Differences elicitation from patients or the public鈥 opinion to inform trial design (specifically sample size calculation). The PhD is embedded within the PINpoINT study.
The thesis involves several chapters addressing questions:
(1) What are the reported experiences of Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in trials from the perspective of trial teams and PPI partners? (Qualitative scoping review)
(2) Is acceptability considered, and if so, how is acceptability reported in studies implementing Minimal Important Differences elicitation tools? 聽(Scoping review)
(3) What are PPI partners鈥 views on the acceptability of the Minimal Important Differences elicitation tools for informing trial design? (Focus group)
(4) How transferable is the Theoretical Framework of Acceptability (TFA) questionnaire to assess the acceptability of MID elicitation? (Think-aloud study)
(5) How the adapted the TFA questionnaire can be applied with MID elicitation in practice? (Survey)
The project is supervised by Dr Sharon McCann (Aberdeen), Dr Beatriz Goul茫o (Glasgow), Prof Marion Campbell (Aberdeen)
